Manor Courtyard

Willow Valley Communities challenged Terra with another sizable courtyard renovation. This time, the team was in charge of demolition, utility trenching, hardscape installation, as well as planting, mulching, fine grading and sod installation.

Before the project broke ground, we developed the design of the courtyard in conjunction with the general contractor and community management. A key element of the existing courtyard to be salvaged and upgraded was the Hiram Johnson Rose Garden. New features include a shaded, artificial-turf lawn for wellness programs, spacious fire pit patios, a resident requested labyrinth, outdoor kitchen and dining, resident food kiosk and Japanese inspired Zen Garden.

Along the foundation of the adjacent apartment building we made sure to provide privacy to the residents without obstructing their views by utilizing hedges, mature shrubbery, flowering and shade trees.

The courtyard and entrance parking lot renovations took just under a year to complete from start to finish and are now a staple of the retirement community’s campus.
