Millersville Pike

Under new ownership, this property was in need of a complete landscape renovation. Foundation plantings and existing walkways were removed to accommodate a new landscape and hardscape scheme. At the rear of the house, a new stone retaining wall and steps were created to traverse from the existing flagstone patio, down to a new patio area. The new patio area provides a casual gathering space for entertaining which includes a sitting wall and propane fire pit.

New foundation plantings were installed within the first phase of the project. Phase two of the renovation took place post construction of a detached carriage house and consisted of a flagstone entry walk, pea gravel drive court and additional site landscaping that addressed the curb appeal of the property from the rather busy Millersville Pike.

At the rear of the property is a 1.5 acre parcel that is home to a myriad of mature trees, wildlife and spacious lawn area. To reduce lawn maintenance of this area, we were tasked with transforming it to a wildflower meadow with turf pathways that meander through native plantings. We incorporated Witch Hazel, Bottlebrush Buckeye, Chokeberry, Serviceberry, Winterberry Holly and Viburnums to this native wildlife area.
